Guinea pigs weigh between 1.5–2.5 ibs and measure between 20 and 25 cm in length. They typically live an average five years, but may live as long as eight years.[I have a regular boarder who is 13 years old. guinea pigs thrive in groups of two or more they are very sociable little chaps. If handled correctly early in their life, guinea pigs become amenable to being picked up and carried,. Guinea pigs that become familiar with their owner will whistle on the owner's approach; they will also learn to whistle in response to the rustling of plastic bags or the opening of refrigerator doors, where their food is. My pack of sows make quite a noise when its time for their veggies!
