Choosing A Boarder
Each and every one of my pets have different needs and requirements, I am extremely particular about what they need, what I feel is good for them, and the standards of care I wish them to receive. Before I book a holiday I check with my pet carers that they are able to look after them.
Look around at different boarding facility’s, they vary a great deal in standards, accommodation, facilities, and it is worth checking you are 100% satisfied before setting off on your holidays. Most holidays’ you don’t know what you have got till you have arrived, this isn’t the case as you can visit your pet’s destination in advance. No 1 a visit is essential Is it clean? Does it smell nice? Does everything look nice? Are the animals out playing or all shut away? Are the animals happy? Are water bottles clean and fresh? Are there adequate safety precautions in place? Are there plenty of toys? Is the area safe and secure? Is the carer competent, knowledgeable and caring? Is the garden area safe from intruders and predators? Questions Are the guests cleaned out daily? Are the guests exercised daily? Are they given fresh fruit and vegetables daily? Are feeding routines consistent? Are vaccinations needed? What if my pet or another guest becomes unwell? Is there a quarantine area available? What if I am delayed? What to avoid Hutch based boarding, how sad, Daily exercise is essential to your pet’s happiness, do not except less. Wire based bottoms in hutch’s or runs, very uncomfortable for rabbits and guinea pigs feet, used by bunny farmers! Crowded accommodation! Dirty, smelly conditions!
Ensure you visit first, I know I would!
